Chemistry Games Web Site ... Stinks and Bangs!

Thinking of all the malodorous sulfur compounds and the atrocious smell of selenium and tellurium compounds, I decided that these three elements formed an olfactory as well as a chemical category, and thought of them thereafter
as the "stinkogens".

Welcome to Stinks and Bangs - the chemistry games web site! The interactive games on this site are designed to help you learn the elements in the periodic table and to give you practice balancing chemical equations. Click on one of the links to the left and try them out!

All games were designed by Dave Ingram using Macromedia Flash MX. Special thanks to Yue-Ling Wong for providing the inspiration for the balancing equation game.

Still in Development ...
Please note that this site is a work in progress. At this point the periodic puzzle game is not yet complete. I am also creating several matching and "drag 'n' drop" games with a chemistry theme. Check back periodically for new games.

Feedback Wanted ...
Comments and questions are appreciated - if you have an idea for a new game or an improvement to an existing game please email me at: .

I am particularly interested in feedback on things like how intuitive the games' directions are, problems loading the games, how the site views on a Windows system (as opposed to the Mac that it was created on), whether or not it fits on your monitor and so on.

Note: the balancing equation Flash games have been checked on Windows 98 and appear to be working well (font problems corrected). Let me know if they aren't on your machine!

Comments on colour are also relevant. Does the colour of the background compliment the game or not, is it too dark or too light? Of course, if you find a typographical error or an inaccuracy I want to know about it!
