  • About

Dave Ingram is a naturalist and photographer based on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. He currently works as a teacher in the Comox Valley and with Parks Canada at Pacific Rim National Park Reserve during July and August. Dave  regularly contributes photographs of BC native plants to the eFlora BC image bank.

Dave’s passion is landscape photography and in documenting the small details of plants and animals in the natural world. He enjoys close-up macro photography and has a great interest in the patterns and shapes that can be found in nature. Dave also has a thing for abandoned feral shopping carts, urban areas, and derelict buildings. You can follow his nature observations on Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, Instagram and on Island Nature.

Dave currently  uses a Fujifilm X-T1 with the brilliantly sharp XF 10-24mm f/4 lens, the XF 35mm f/1.4 lens as well as a Fuji 1.6 extension tube for macro work. For urban/street photography (and shopping carts), the Fujifilm X100S is his preferred camera.

Older images on the site were created with previously owned Nikon gear - a Nikon D600, a Nikon D80, a Nikon 4500. Nikon lenses used included the AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm f4 ED, 105mm f2.8 macro and 60mm f2.8 macro lens.
